Considering that this absurdity was put in place in Sochi with the main idea of granting Plushy another medal, being it a three way toss between US, Canada and Russia, I am not surprised at all by Chen's words.
I am not the biggest Chen's fan, but I do hope he considers this a training and does not get psyched out by the mistakes made during the SP. I want him to arrive to the real deal rested, relaxed and focused, and not bothered by what happened or did not happen during a silly event

We never hear Ashley Wagner, for instance, referred to as a bronze medalist except maybe once in a blue moon and, of course, it's always qualified as the "team" event to put it in its proper, lesser place.

Yeah right. It's on her Twitter account. It's on her Instagram account. It's mentioned every time she gets introduced. She loves being an Olympic Bronze medalist.
