It seems to have come out herself at first

2016-17 season: Gold cited "post worlds summer depression" as a reason for not being prepared

"She has been in a deep, deep, deep depression" Carroll said.
I don't think he meant Grace was diagnosed with depressive disorder. He was just saying she's been very upset.

Thoughts?

What he said is that she was in a deep depression. He didn't qualify or minimize that in any way, and it was not appropriate for him to comment on her emotional state to the media.

Reports today that Gracie Gold is moving to Canton to train with Zueva and Epstein.

I really hope this works out for her and, at the very least, that Marina gives her some better programs that are more suitable for her style. No more pretty little girl programs, please! Let's see her be strong and dynamic.

I hope this works for Gracy too. She was such a great athletic skater, but Lori Nichol seems to be a one-trick pony when it comes to the women. Everybody has to be a pwetty pwincess. It worked for Michelle Kwan, and it's working for Gabby Daleman, but it just never seemed to suit Gold. I love strong athletic skaters, and I hope that Marina can get her back to that style. There are lots of wonderful programs she could do with a style that is more suited to her talents and abilities.

I'm not sure I agree about Daleman. Her Rhapsody free this year is dynamic, with big bombastic notes and sweeping moves (her ena bauers into 3/3, for example). Although there's an element of "pwetty" there, there is also great strength.

I do agree for sure that pwetty does not work for Gold.
