Gratz to Johnnie!!!
I've never been a Weir fan. But after watching "Johnny Be Good" on The Sundance Channel this year, I've found new respect for him. He really shared a lot of private thoughts about his private life and career. I liked the 4 year documentation of what was going through his head...at that time in his life. It gave me a different view of him.
I'd like to see more skaters document their career like Johnny has. |

This is a popularity contest, but people like Kwan won it and it has prestige.
FYI, Americans really like JW -- very, very conservative Republicans I know even like him very much. |
Well, I'm a conservative independent... and I think Johnny is a fruit...awesome skating talent...but just a banana shy of a bunch. Unfortunately, that flakiness is exduded on ice and I have never been able to completely enjoy watching him skate -- way too much fluff. Incredible, pure skating, but it's like watching a twisted, sureal Boitano... like a freaky trip. |
