Chuckie, don't you live in NJ also?? Do you have Optimum??
I just checked the schedule and Olympic Channel will have pairs free live from 12:30-2 a.m., ladies free from 3-5 a.m., and men's free from 5:30-7:30 a.m. And yes, I'm actually gonna stay up and watch LIVE!

I have DirecTV and yes, I can watch it live, but I just can't disrupt my sleep cycle any more with an all-nighter. I used to do that, and sometimes it took a week until I was able to sleep normally. One good thing: the SD starts at 10:45 pm and and the FD starts at 9:45 pm, so I can watch both live.
The OC isn't showing NHK later during the day on Saturday the way they did on Friday, or on Saturday last week. Apparently there are a lot of other pre-Olympic sports getting hot right now, and that's what they'll be showing tomorrow. But i do have IceNetwork, so when I get up tomorrow at 8am or so I can go on there and watch the replays---which are a LOT better than the live showings---no buffering. And I can post the results more quickly.
At least for the next two weeks it's reasonable hours. Then it's back to the agony for the GPF.

PAIRS:
Sui & Han were the class of pairs field here, but I wouldn't say it was a runaway like it was last week in CHN. Stolbova & Klimov seem to have gotten their mojo back here. Only flub for them was on their triple-triple.
Second medal on the Grand Prix for Astakhova & Rogonov. I never really got why this team scores so well relative to some of the other B+ European teams, i.e., the Italian teams, but gotta say they're more gelled as a pair this season. They don't have the smoothness of Nina Mozer's teams, but they look less awkward and labored in their transitions and she appears to be jumping better. They're definitely contenders for Pyeongchang.
Very nice FS also from Seguin & Bilodeau!
MEN:
Excellent effort from Adam Rippon on that 4Lutz attempt and just a great performance overall! Well deserved. Looking forward, he should try and replace that 3flip with a 4toe as his second pass. Fourth American man to medal in this season's Grand Prix!
Keegan Messing landed a beautiful second 3Axel in the bonus! Problem was that he had already repeated 3Lutz and 3toe prior, so the second 3Axel was invalidated. Had he just done 3Lutz-2toe and that 3Axel, he may have managed to beat Jason Brown, which would've been a huge resume booster for him! I'm rooting for him to get CAN's second Olympic ticket.
Jason Brown had the opening to win this whole thing, but just wasn't able to take it. Voronov seized the opportunity instead and put himself back in the conversation among the Russian men.
LADIESPolina Tsurskaya didn't put a foot wrong in her Grand Prix debut. I thought that she would finish ahead of Kostner overall. She should've, IMO, but the judges just love them some Carolina Kostner seemingly unconditionally!
Rough return to competition for Satoko Miyahara, which is to be expected, but the timing just couldn't be worse given how tough the Japanese ladies' field is right now.
So, it looks like Mirai is banking on the go big or go home strategy with the 3Axel. Not a bad strategy, but it hasn't worked well for her thusfar. She has about six weeks to really get it ready, but along w/working on the 3Axel, she needs to figure out how to perform to her music. This could be a great program for her, but she looks like she could just as well be skating her program w/no music on. Compare this to Alena Leonova, who was just so invested in her performance and was just a joy to watch! I would've had Leonova ahead of Nagasu in the FS, at least, if not overall.
Your thoughts...

Polina probably should have beaten Caro, but the judges weren't going to let a brand-newbie beat the veteran artiste---all they had to do was pile on the PCS. Caught the NBC recap and couldn't disagree more with Tara and Johnny about Polina's 'lack of artistry'. Sure, she doesn't hold those moves yet, but she sure does relate to her music and shows it with every move and facial expression. The judges agree: she's already getting all 8s in PCS.
I agree that the 3A alone isn't going to do it for Mirai. Polina doesn't have a 3A and never will, but she outscored Mirai in the FS by nearly 11 points, most in TES---Polina gets high GOE on all her elements--but also in PCS because
Polina relates to her music and shows it. The only connection Mirai has to her music is her dress.

V/M become the first official ice dance team to make the GPF, and doubtless P/C will join them next week, as well as the Shibs at SA.
If one of Weaver/Poje or Chock'/Bates win silver next week at TDF, that will make four. Then the last two will come down to a tiebreaker.
