Yeah, I remember this announcement couple months' back -- and reportedly, Plushy and Sotnikova are considering Beijing 2022. Sotnikova hasn't competed in almost 18 months, I think, so I honestly think this is largely publicity ploy! RUS is loaded with young baby ballerinas who can reel off 7-triple programs no sweat!

When Sotnikova tried a comeback in 2015, it was clear that after just one year away, she wasn't competitive. She was majorly held up for the bronze medal at COR, but a month later at Golden Spin, she finished an embarrassing 6th behind skaters like Karen Chen, Alena Leonova and Angela Wang, then went on to a sixth place at 2016 Russian Nationals. She didn't compete last season or this one due to injury. And now she is looking forward to 2022? When pigs fly, IMO.
